Shown above are the 3 best spots to shoot from at Cheyenne street. Spot 1 is
located at Ringe Ln and Cheyenne(first intersection). That spot is where we shoot
the majority of our takeoff shots(bank shots). Spot 1 is also a great place for
landings on RWY03. Spot 2 is great for anyone who likes belly shots. Spot 3 is
great for landings on RWY03 when lighting is right of course. If your at 3 waiting for
landings, you may want to move south for better angles. Use caution when spotting
here. This street has a heavy flow of semi-trucks, so watch out when your shooting.
Also if you plan on shooting here at night, use extreme caution. Its not exactly the
safest place to be at night!

Shown above is the spot to be to get recovery shots. Make sure you are on the speedway side
and not on the base side.
Shooting on the base side will attract MP/SP attention and you may be
told to move. At times they may ask to see the photos you took,
they may and can tell you to
times you may want to move north and south depending on the how and when the plane makes his
turn to final. Navy planes may make their turn real early so you may need to move way down the
street to get a decent shot of them. For aircraft on a straight in, you may want to move north, past
the other base entrance.
Its good to have a scanner when spotting at Nellis. One reason being is that if you are here in the summer just sitting there
without one, not knowing who is coming in/out, you may get easily dehydrated from waiting all day, or get bored sitting there for
nothing.

The spot to the left is on Las Vegas BLVD and is where you can get
photos of pavehawks inbound to the jolly pad. You can also get photos
of some heavies that are parked at the transient west area as seen in
the photos below.
And this is how it
looks when you're
there.
